Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 16 June 2026
1. Who you are contracting with
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the website and ECU calibration services provided by TuningTechnics ("TuningTechnics", "we", "us", "our"). By accessing the site or requesting a service you enter into a binding agreement with TuningTechnics. If you do not agree with these Terms, do not use the service.
2. The service
We provide remote ECU calibration files and related performance services for the VAG 1.8T 20V, EA113 TFSI and related platforms. Services include Stage 1 and Stage 2 calibrations, custom tuning, launch control, pops & bangs, and supporting feature flags.
Our service follows a simple workflow: you submit your ECU file for review, we provide a manual quotation, you confirm and arrange payment, we perform the calibration, and you receive the completed file via our website. No automated checkout, subscription or recurring billing is used.
3. Customer responsibilities
By using our service you confirm that you will:
- provide accurate and complete vehicle information including make, model, generation, year, transmission, ECU type and engine code;
- submit a readable, uncorrupted original ECU file obtained with a compatible tool;
- ensure your vehicle is mechanically sound, with no unresolved faults, leaks or component failures that could affect calibration safety or results;
- inform us of any hardware modifications, fuel type and operating conditions that may influence the calibration;
- comply with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction when installing and using a calibration file.
4. Results disclaimer
Calibrations are developed based on the information and files you provide. Actual results may vary depending on vehicle condition, fuel quality, hardware configuration, supporting modifications, ambient conditions and other factors outside our control. We do not guarantee specific power, torque or drivability outcomes for any individual vehicle.
5. Acceptable use and misuse
You must not:
- use the service for unlawful purposes or in breach of any applicable law or regulation;
- commit fraud, send spam, or impersonate any person or vehicle owner;
- infringe any third party's intellectual property or other rights;
- interfere with the security or integrity of the service (including malware, probing, scraping or unauthorised access);
- reverse engineer, resell, redistribute or sublicense our calibration files.
6. Intellectual property
All software, calibration files, documentation, branding and content provided by TuningTechnics are and remain our property (or that of our licensors). We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the calibration file we deliver to you for the vehicle and ECU specified in your order. Resale, redistribution and bulk use are prohibited.
7. Off-road / motorsport notices
Certain calibrations (including but not limited to pops & bangs, hard cut, EGR, DPF and AdBlue solutions) may not be road-legal in your jurisdiction. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of any calibration complies with local emissions, noise and vehicle regulations.
8. Service levels and warranties
We use reasonable skill and care, but we do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific power, torque or behaviour figure will be achieved on your specific hardware. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all implied warranties including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
9. Quotation, payment and refunds
TuningTechnics operates a quotation-based service. After you submit an ECU file, we review it and email you a quotation with a price and turnaround estimate. No payment is taken at submission. Once you accept the quotation, payment is arranged manually using the payment method we agree with you. Work begins only after payment is received. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the service, with or without notice, if you materially breach these Terms, fail to pay, present a security or fraud risk, or repeatedly violate our policies. On termination your right to use the calibration file granted under section 6 ends.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with these Terms is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential or special damages, including loss of profits, data or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
12. Indemnity
You will indemnify and hold TuningTechnics harmless from claims arising out of your unlawful or unauthorised use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your use of a calibration in a manner that breaches applicable law.
13. Changes to the service or these Terms
We may modify the service and these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which TuningTechnics is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes, subject to any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have.
