Audi TT 8N 1.8T – Stock Engine P6262 Build

AUDI TTAPX

This Mk1 Audi TT arrived for custom tuning with a completely stock 1.8T 20V engine and a Precision 6262 turbocharger—a combination that many would consider ambitious for factory internals. The goal wasn't necessarily to chase the highest possible dyno figure, but to explore the limits of the platform while maintaining reliability. Although the 6262 is capable of producing well over 400hp and truly begins to perform at boost pressures exceeding 2.0 bar, the customer opted for a more conservative approach. The final calibration was developed around approximately 1.1 bar of boost, allowing the vehicle to deliver strong performance while keeping stress on the stock engine under control. During development, we also tested the engine's high-RPM capability and found the factory 20-valve bottom end remained stable at 8000 RPM. For long-term durability and daily drivability, the rev limiter was ultimately set to 7600 RPM. This project demonstrates that with the right calibration and supporting setup, even a stock-internal 1.8T can successfully operate with a turbocharger far larger than what most would consider conventional.
